Tuominen Jenni
Designer, illustrator and visual artist (born 1976) lives and works in Porvoo, Finland. She has a studio in Porvoo Art Factory. Jenni is the winner of the 2006 Marimekko design competition. She received honored Finnish State Prize for illustration in 2017.
She loves to work on fields of illustration, design and art. Recently she has been working with books, ceramics and painting. Her works have been exhibited in many countries across the globe.
Jenni has designed many patterns for clothing, fabrics and tableware for Marimekko. She has also made a series of unique ceramic sculptures for Finnish design brand Samuji and Swiss department store Globus. She illustrated a rug collection with animal motives for Mum’s in 2018.
Her first children’s book made with her husband Jukka Pylväs Jengi was published in January 2018 by Etana Editions. Colouring book Unessakävelijä (Sleepwalker) was released on spring 2016 by Shildts & Söderströms.
She gets inspiration for her works from nature. She likes to do gardening at her summer cottage and pick mushrooms and berries in the forests at Autumn.
